"I received my guitar on Friday (9/14/01), set it up, and was simply amazed. It's really a spectacular instrument. I've had a couple of friends note that it actually captures the authentic Les Paul sound that so many replicas lack. The materials and craftsmanship are better than I had anticipated. I had almost purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Special II instead, because I figured I'd be better of with a low-end Gibson than a copy of a high-end Gibson. I'm so glad I didn't. "Hi Kurt, I got the SX this afternoon, took it home, adjusted pickup height, tuned it and plugged it in and.......WOW! :-) For a $160 guitar, it sounds really good. I'm not the type to nitpick about finish blemishes (none of which I could find anyway) or tuner & knob quality. I bought the guitar thinking I'd change the pickups, but I honestly don't see any reason to. I mostly play thru a Korg AX1000G effects processor and a Marshall Valvestate 100 watt combo, so the effects help out anyway. I'm happy with the finish of the guitar. Woodgrain is slightly visible, but not as much as on a flametop. Since I wanted the flat look anyway, I'm happy with it. Thanks for the quick shipment. I hate waiting. Thanks again. Joe" 10-4-2001
