Olivier Ruth and his wife, Elisabeth, of Provence, France, have a deep appreciation for tradition and quality. For years both worked in the famed French cosmetics and fashion industry. While Mr. Ruth was chairman at L'Occitane (the famous high-end fragrance skin care maker), he created the Durance subsidiary in order to offer equivalent products to non-L'Occitane independent stores. Durance was subsequently purchased by the Ruths, enabling them to realize their long-cherished dream of establishing their own family business.

Dedicated to the rich, natural heritage of the Provence they so love, Durance is an extensive line of fine products for the body, bath and home skillfully compounded with the uniquely subtle fragrances of their native French countryside.
