While Mr. Ruth was chairman at L’Occitane (the famous high-end fragrance skin care maker), he created the Durance subsidiary in order to offer equivalent products to non-L’Occitane independent stores. Durance was subsequently purchased by the Ruths, enabling them to realize their long-cherished dream of establishing their own family business.

Unlike ordinary soaps, Durance pure vegetable base soaps are triple milled and crafted with natural oils. The result? A rich, long lasting bar with silkening lather to cleanse, soften, condition and fragrance the skin.
