This is a wonderful book, perhaps a remembrance of simple times past or perhaps a progenitor of times to come and the restoration of comfortable country living that is the coming trend.
Another of the country house library series, it shows off the beauty of Dutch Colonials with all the enthusiasm of someone who truly loves them and loves style, grace, and architecture.
Human needs have not changed much over millennia and eventually, for each environment, folks realize that the same basic design requirements are there to make a comfortable domicile and residential experience for folks.
Here we find a book full of design ideas and hints and discussion of the half timber home genre, a kind of structure of strength and grace to fit well with a gentle kind country life, warmth, and a sensuous living experience.

This one is a bit more aesthetic than technical but great for the many pictures and great descriptions of rooms and their function and treatment of this style.
