Dutch close combat knife, German modified and rare!

This is a Dutch fighting knife, first introduced for service in 1915. This type of knife is not uncommon in Norway, since the WH re-issued these knives during WW2. They where widely used by troops stationed in the occupied countries, but was also very highly regarded by the Wss fighting troops. One of the acted propaganda pictures from the Battle of the Bulge shows a WSS soldier with one of these tucked inside the neck opening of his jacket.This knife is in overall very good condition. The German troops in Norway modified a large number of these by shortening the blade and scabbard, and remodelling the top of the grip. The renowned magazine Deutsches Waffen Journal had an article on this very rare model, of which the details are photographed here. Scabbard has been lost, only the knife is available. Will clean up nicely, as there are both some surface gunk, rust and laquer present!
