This latex foam is a blend of natural and man-made latex that have been processed through an eco-friendly water based Talalay process. Warranty on these foam toppers is 20 years against body impressions, poor quality and poor workmanship. In the event of a sub first quality product, Latex International will fully stand behind these products that you would purchase from us. Flashes, flaking, small tears, and slight color imperfections that occur during the manufacturing process are considered normal and may sometimes be visible but will not affect the performance of the product.
These products have been designed as mattress components and are guaranteed to last longer inside an encasing. While sheets can help keep some dirt or sweat from penetrating, they don't necessarily offer extensive protection for these foams.
To protect the product from tearing apart that can result from repeated moving and pulling, for example, you must place it inside a protective case.
While water can evaporate quickly from the material and will not promote growth of mold or bacteria, certain liquids like blood or urine can cause stains and further damage to the product. To protect the foam from liquid a breathable but waterproof non-vinyl cover is also recommended.
If to be placed over an existing mattress, make sure that there isn't yet any bold sagging in the mattress that may cause undue permanent indentation on the foam product. Mattresses with none or not enough central support may affect the mattress underneath and hence, the performance of the Talalay latex foam product.

Note that all sizes are made from Twin XL molds and therefore Full sizes and up will come with seams. Queen molds are used on limited basis only so that on uncalculated occasions Queen sizes may be retailed as a solid piece that is without seam. The seams hold very tight and are guaranteed not to fall apart by the manufacturer. Under enough protective cover the seam won't be easily detected.
Just A Few Do's and Don'ts
Do place your topper on a mattress that still provides you adequate support. If your mattress has noticeable dishing due to broken or worn down springs, for example, you might need to replace the mattress if unfixable, to benefit from your mattress topper completely.
Don't let your topper be without a protective cover. Just placing sheets over it won't be as adequate as a total enclosure.
Don't place a thin layer of extra plush topper directly over an extra firm or firm mattress, particularly if your weight might be enough to bottom it up. Doing so will make the heavier parts of your body feel the underlying firm mattress. If you use a thick layer, on the other hand, it might be too deep and your weight will sink in it and cause discomfort. Depending on the firmness of the underlying mattress, the density of your body, and how drastic of a change in comfort is required, more than one firmness may be required, i.e. 2" 19 ILD + 2" 28 ILD.
Do follow a progressive-style of layering if you are building a mattress from these Talalay latex foam products. While some people might be okay with a single firmness, i.e. a solid 5.8" of 28 ILD alone has worked for some, most individuals need to have firmer base layers, less firm in the middle, and the most plush at the top.
Individuals that require an extra plush mattress can use an extra plush foam as top layer as long as the layers underneath have the right firmness and properly selected and put together to provide them adequate support.
Don't settle for less. Luxury beds don't necessarily require the luxury price!
What is ILD rating?
Indentation Load Deflection ( or ILD) is the standard numbering system for rating foam firmness. It is a standard measurement of how much pressure it takes to compress a foam down 25% of its original thickness. For example, if your foam is 2.8” thick and has an ILD rating of 36, it would take 36 pounds of pressure to compress the foam by 0.7". The ILD rating of your Talalay Latex foam material will tell you how FIRM your mattress is. A higher ILD rating suggests a firmer foam.

The very first stage of the Talalay Latex manufacturing process is extracting the natural latex (or milk) from the tropical rubber tree in a way that is similar to tapping a maple tree for syrup. Natural and man-made latexes, soaps and rubber curing agents are precisely mixed in a temperature-controlled, stainless steel tank. Quality checks are performed on Ph, viscosity and temperature. By definition, latex is a rubber particle suspended in water.

Compression Set Test: This test simulates the effect of body impressions on the latex after a person lies on the bed for extended periods of time. Latex mattress samples are clamped to 50% of their original thickness for 22 hours at 158 ° F. When removed, the percent loss in thickness is measured. Higher values indicate a higher propensity for the product to take a body impression over time. LI’s Talatech® latex consistently outperforms imported latex.

Impact Test: This test is used to simulate the effect on the latex when a person continuously gets on and off the bed over extended periods of time. A block of latex is tested for ILD (firmness) and then placed in a testing machine where a weight is dropped on the latex repeatedly for 24 hours. The product is then removed from the machine and allowed to recover for 24 hours. ILD is again measured and recorded. Higher loss values indicate a higher propensity for the material to soften over time due to mechanical breakdown of the product. LI latex consistently recovers better, with less loss.

By definition, latex is a rubber particle suspended in water. There are 2 types of latex; natural rubber latex and styrene butadiene rubber or man made latex. All latex is either a blend of the two or 100% natural latex. All mattress components and pillows from Latex International are 100% latex. Latex International uses a proprietary blend of natural and man made latex to provide the optimal balance of comfort and durability.
Natural rubber latex is for durability. Natural inhibits tearing as it can be stretched like a rubber band. Man made latex helps in creating a product that is resistant to sagging or taking body impressions as it can be compressed over and over and will continue to provide the same feel experienced on the retail floor for years to come. 100% natural latex sleep products are less durable than a blended latex product and are more likely to take a body impression over time.In the late 1990’s, latex allergies became a topic of concern. Publicity revolved around a very small portion of the public exposed to a protein found in natural rubber latex that caused allergic reactions. The majority of these cases involved health-care workers who came in frequent contact with medical products made using a dipped vulcanization product, often produced in third world countries that do not have the stringent GMP manufacturing codes employed in the United States.
Although the process is completely different from ours, Latex International takes action to prevent the potential for allergic reaction. Non-skin contact products, such as mattresses and pillows, that may contain some natural rubber latex, undergo a five stage washing process which removes reaction-causing proteins while enhancing the over quality of the product. The openness of Talalay latex foam cells, allows for thorough washing.
Complaints for allergic reactions to natural rubber latex are monitored by the FDA. To our knowledge, there has never been a single complaint over our more than 28 years of experience stemming from the natural rubber found in our mattresses and pillows. Our products have been tested by outside facilities and are shown to be inherently hypoallergenic for sufferers of mold, mildew or bacterial allergies.
