Up for auction is a very nice 1970's EAMES HERMAN MILLER loungechair and ottoman. Set has very beautiful bold Brazilian rosewood grain molded shell wrapped around soft black tufted English leather. Aluminum and black aluminum base and back brace. It has the Herman Miller lable underside and also a date it was originally purchased. This chair has had only one owner. In excellent condition with no rips or tears. I don't see any wear on this set. The only flaw I saw was a dimple on the back of the chair on the bottom section of which I almost didn't see. There may have been something sitting it in for a period of time. It did not break the leather. The soft black tufted leather is original and has never been replaced. The rosewood is excellent as well with no cracks. There may be just a couple of scratches but very little. This chair has not been used very much. All photos are of the actual chair and ottoman you are bidding on. Chair measures approx. 32" H, 32.5" W, 24" D. Ottoman is approx. 26" x 21 x17".. The Eames Lounge Chair, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, is one of the most widely recognized and imitated furniture designs ever created! Eames wanted to build a simple and practical lounge chair with "the warm receptive look of a well used first baseman`s mitt." Considered one of the most significant and widely recognized furniture designs of the 20th century, the Eames lounge chair and ottoman set an enduring standard for comfort and elegance. The rich wood and supple leather suggest old-fashioned luxury translated into modern forms. This treasured collector`s item would make a wonderful accent to any home or office. ~Buyer pays all UPS packaging and shipping costs which will be determined from zip code.
