EARLY 19th CENTURY FRAMED FINE SILK AND WOOL EMBROIDERY SCENE
A fine skillfully embroidered silk and wool picture circa 1810-1820 worked in varying shades of silk threads on a cream silk fabric, featuring courting couples with their small dog and two doves. I believe this embroidery to be European. The technique used is with satin stitches and wool work on head, face, neck and both hands. Wool on the faces and hands have damage, as seen in photos. In very good condition. Original glass, hand painted insert, frame and backing. Size: Frame 21-1/4" x 18". In original gilt frame with gilt chipping missing around the frame. On the back is an old label from a Restorer from Dublin. For the collector.
