The compact Ford Evolution programmer improves drivability and increases horsepower up to 12% and torque up to 15%. The programmer's modified transmission strategies will enhance shifting feel and performance, as well as help to extend transmission life. Connecting directly to the OBD-II port underneath the dash, the Evolution software is uploaded to the truck's ECM. Modifications made during this process can be easily switched back to stock at anytime because a back-up stock program is automatically saved prior to the upload.
Described below, the Evolution has three program levels designed to fit your needs: Transmission Only, Tow Performance, and High Performance. It is the one programmer that keeps working once it has flashed the ECU. By leaving the Evolution connected, 0-60 and ¼-mile times for before and after performance testing are displayed.
Program Levels
Transmission Only This is the lowest setting, which provides firmer transmission shifts, not engine performance upgrades.
Tow Performance This setting provides better shifting and modifies ignition timing and fuel injection to improve performance.
High Performance This is the highest setting, which aggressively tunes fuel ignition and ignition timing to maximize vehicle performance without sacrificing drivability and durability. The transmission is also modified to take advantage of the improved engine performance by providing quicker, firmer shifts.
