This book attempts to treat the system and design considerations in a straight forward and practical manner with minimal resort to theoretical or highly mathematical discussions of theories.

The subject matter for this book is at times sophisticated and requires some mathematics for understanding. In places where this occurs, every effort has been made to provide worked out examples in the interest of maximum clarity.

Understanding of the situation may also requite some background in fundamental electricity. For the reader who does not have this background, the author suggests resorting to one of the many texts on the subject.

If you are serious about generating your own electricity, you need this information!

The overwhelming majority of this book is devoted to producing 60-Hz 115-volt electricity despite the fact that low voltage DC is easier to produce and understand. Unfortunately it is also much more expensive to use.

The majority of appliances run on 115-volt electricity and the appliances that you may find to run on DC current are prohibitively expensive and are difficult to have serviced.

This book goes beyond most simple "Home Brew" electrical generation books.....
