Up for auction,This is an Elgin Railroad Watch made in 1899 .

I verified the Date of Manufacture at http://www.pocketwatchrepair.com/histories/elgin.html. an excellent resource with historys of American Watch Makers.

This Pocket Watch has the most beautiful engraving and machining on the movement I've ever seen.My 6 megapixel camera doesn't do it justice.

It has a 17 Jewel movement serial number 8324745, the case says:Wadsworth Pilot, Guaranteed 20 Years, #928690.

The crystal appears to be original, I removed it in one of the photos trying to get the blue color of the hands to show.

This is from the estate of an Elgin Watchmakers College Student who graduated on June 1st, 1941.

Condition is non-running, but the overall condition of this 110 year old watch is very good.
