A very interesting military lensatic compass housing. Lid it marked "elop", which is apparently a division of Elbit, a company in Israel that makes sophisticated GPS and navigation equipment for the military. The housing is extremely high quality. Thick plastic and heavy brass and stainless fittings. The beveled glass lens cover is very thick. The base contains a sort of stainless steel bellows, I guess as some sort of shock absorber. Flip up sight. Glowing reference marks, spring loaded hinge. Has a serial number and four Hebrew letters in the base, as well as a rubber gasket, perhaps to aid in mounting to a tripod.
