This EMC Symmetrix DMX1000 is the P version which means that it is the Ultra performance model !

The EMC Symmetrix DMX1000 is a single cabinet storage system that can be configured with up to 144 x 2Gb/s high performance Fibre Channel disk drives providing a maximum raw capacity of 21TB. The 12-slot Direct Matrix backplane accommodates configurations of up to four global memory directors, up to six channel I/O directors, and either two or four dedicated disk I/O directors.

Connectivity: The DMX1000 supports up to six (6) high-speed Channel I/O Directors with four SMP-driven pipeline slices each. Optimized hardware logic and data protection encoding ensures end-to-end data integrity with automated channel failover for maximum availability and load balancing. System can be used with any server / host running Open or Mainframe O/S including: Windows 2000/2003, Red Hat, Linux, AS400, RS/6000, SUN, HP, UNIX, 3380, 3390-1, 3390-2, 3390-3, 3390-9, 3390-27.
