You are bidding on an Emerson radio from the 1930's, I think. I am told that this is a catalin radio and that the color is butterscotch. I will tell you what I can see. Please ask questions as this is not my area at all. There are three knobs on the front. The left one seems to be the on/off and volume knob. The middle one moves the tuning dial. It moves smoothly. The right one has two click stop positions. I don't know what it does. At the bottom of the dial area is EMERSON RADIO PHONOGRAPH CORP. The radio measures 7 1/2" wide by 5" deep and 10" tall. There is a tiny area on the top at the back edge of a darker color that looks like it may be a repair from long ago. It is 1/2' long by about 1/8". Inside there is a stamp on a part that reads EMERSON A30S257B and the remains of a label at the bottom that reads SERIA J-198. There is no back. The cord is worn to the point that it is not safe to use so I have not tried to plug the radio in to test it. There are no screws in the holes on the bottom. There is a very tiny dot, almost like a tiny bubble, visible near the bottom front beneath the knob. It looks like a factory flaw. The radio came out of an estate and the family said it had been in the house since before WWII. The condition appears to be excellent other than what I have described above. I see no cracks or chips. Shipping will be at actual cost with no added charges. Careful, double boxed packing will be included. Please let me invoice you after the auction as the shipping estimate is just that.........an estimate. On Oct-30-09 at 15:17:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Please see the message from an ebay member about this radio. The reserve is lowered to $1249.95. On Nov-02-09 at 14:42:24 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve is $999.95. |
