Full sized BARLING Special 5585 billiard 10655 TC [175]

Transition Barlings made shortly after the end of the "family" era were usually cut by the same carvers using the same old Algerian briar as the earlier pipes, but they introduced a new set of shape numbers. This one is an excellent example of such a top quality pipe, in the higher-grade "Special" finish. It is in good condition entirely, with the exception of some irregularities on the inner edge of the rim. The mouthpiece, I suspect, is a replacement with the logo stamped on.
