ENORMOUS 1915 Stromberg Electric Railway Wall Clock

Where do I start with this absolutely amazing find? The SIZE of this thing! 49cm (19½ inches) in total diameter! I can only imagine this hung on a Railway station platform- or other large public facility? A makers plate states this is model no 25 patented in 1915. The clock is made by STROMBERG ELECTRIC COMPANY of Chicago USA. This company were I believe pioneers in electronic timekeeping, shift workers clock card systems and the like?

The clocks internal workings appear intact in their entirety aside from a pendulum?- and all in sound (very dusty) condition. There's plenty of old analogue clockwork in there as well- and I suspect this is a very early piece in regards to the history of electronic time movements? The lift up brass plated(?) case is in good order however is missing a glass front which shouldn’t be too hard to replace. The steel face of the clock has a slight kink and buckle but is otherwise sound as are the hour and minute hands. A second hand has snapped off.

A truly amazing antique wall clock of gargantuan proportions- and a serious and rewarding project for a restorer.
