It's always such a pleasure to get jewelry by modernist master, Erika Hult de Corral, also known as RIC.  This beautiful, large pin is sterling silver and set with a lovely obsidian gemstone.  The pin is nicely horizontal and the obsidian is tear-drop shaped with a curving, flat piece of sterling lapping over the edge of the stone.  The pin is vintage, circa 1955 and is a wonderful, sleek and clean design.

The pin closes on the back with a well working safety clasp.

Erika Corral was an award winning designed who studied at the Parsons School of Design in Paris, like Hubert Harmon.  Before opening her own workshop in Taxco, de Corral worked with both Sigi Pineda and Enrique Ledesma, so her Modernist stylings were probably greatly influenced by those two Modernist masters.

Misc Info: 

General:

The majority of my items are vintage, ranging from 25 to 80 years old.  These items have been lovingly used and worn and may show age-related wear or patina.  I will always note in the Condition section anything above and beyond normal wear.  Understand, as well, that some vintage silver is hand made or partially hand made and will show evidence of tool marks or other elements of a hand workmanship. 

My vintage silver items also may show some tarnish.  I test all stones with a precision gem tester and silver content is tested as well in most cases unless otherwise specified.  I clearly outline all major repairs that I know about.  The pieces are marked as I have stated and never, ever knowingly "enhanced".  I date the pieces by marks, style, and over 25 years experience of dealing in vintage items. 

Please ask questions if you need more information about a specific piece.  I strive to answer questions very promptly!
