Using one of the Eyemagnify™ 30x21mm Metal Loupes, couldnt be easier, unfold it and place very close to the eye, and the item to view nearly touching the lens on the other side, that gives a small field of decent magnifcation (which increases and decreases as the distance is varied by one or two mm) The detail can be fascinating. These loupes are similar and better to what you see being used in Antiques programmes on the TV
