Early 18th century Britannia Silver girdled baluster shaped caster on raised circular foot with a knop finial. The piece is stamped on the bottom of the foot with the makers hallmark AD & the date letter C in a chevron, the figure of seated Britannia and lions head erased. I believe this item was made in 1718, if made by a London silversmith. There AD makers hallmark also appears again on the inside tenon of the lid. The side of the caster has an indentation approx. 1/2" w shown in photos. The piece is quite tarnished and in need of polishing as you wish.
