You are bidding on a Duplex snare drum from the early 1900s.Really not sure of the exact year,so take a look, and bid accordingly. The drum is in good overall condition, and appears to be mostly original. Here are the details:
The shell appears to be a 3-ply with an inner ply of maple, and an outer ply of either rosewood or mahogany?Really nice grain and construction.Bearing edges are original, and in great shape.Shell measures 6 x 15.5.There are 16 thumb tension T-rods,with heavy duty eyelets in the centers.Has a "patent applied" strainer assembly, and eyelets for a sling.Original gut snares. Both hoops are solid with no splits.Top hoop has a rectangle "Duplex Drum Co." badge. Also has a vent hole eyelet. Both heads are calf, but need replaced.Overall,a nice period drum that could really shine with a little "elbow grease".Offered at NO RESERVE,so bid early & often!
