Crisp Autumn greetings, friend! Offered is a fantastic antique metal advertising trade sign in original paint…its quality is now so seldom seen! With strong folk art appeal, in shadowed stenciled letters it advertises “RECEIVING.” Its universal desirability would allow it to be used and admired in any trade or business today…even hung in a home office would be fun! Generous in size, it measures 46” long x 9” wide. It’s substantial and weights almost 8 pounds (packaged weight will be about 11 pounds). Its background color is a desirable and perfectly muted green and the letters are a soft black. The variation in color tone is remarkable, making the original and dry paint look rich and deep. There’s just a bit of overall paint wear as shown in the many pictures offered, with greater paint wear on its reverse. There is no rust to be found. To hang this great piece, you could simply use nails or the like through its 6 drilled small holes along its edge (found at each corner and two at its center edges). The folks I purchased it from said that it was salvaged from an old hospital. Given a new application today, this untouched beauty is certain to command attention and add wonderful nostalgic flair in the setting you have in mind!
