Highly Collectable French Faience Cruet in the shape of a Duck c.1910.
The duck's open wings form the receptacles for the salt and pepper. It is decorated with flowers and has a cobalt blue head and yellow beak.
The duck measures just over 3 inches (8 cms) in length and 2.75 inches (7 cms) across its wingspan. There are several marks on the base: '5E29' '2097' 'France' and a long word beginning with 'D.........' which I cannot make out.
The cruet set is in good vintage used condition, there is a chip to the duck's beak and a chip to the edge of one wing, as can be seen in close-up. Despite the damage the charming cruet still displays well. (please note that any white marks are caused by camera flash and are not damage).
Don't miss the opportunity to add this vintage piece to your faience or Quimper collection.
