Very large (14" x 18") hard cover book, published 1960 by George Oliver, is # 226 of 750 copies. It is an illustrated book of early cars from 1904 - 1915. Each car has a large color plate. Here are the cars: 1904 Oldsmobile 7, Standard Curved Dash Body; 1904 De Dion Bouton 8, Three Seat Body; 1905 White 15 Steam Car, Rear entrance tonneau body by Cann, Limited, London; 1908 Rolls Royce 40/50, Roi-de- Belges body by Barker; 19010 Renault 12/16, Coupe body by Cann Limited, London; 1910 Daimler 38, Body by Daimler; 1910 Lanchester 28, Landaulet body by Lanchester Motor Company; 1911 Adler 12, Landaulet body by Morgan & Co., London; 1912 Vermorel 12/16, Two-seat body by Mills and Sons, London; 1913/14 Morris Oxford, standard 2-seat body; 1914 Argyll 15/30, 'Streamline Torpedo' body by Argylls Limited, Scotland; 1915 Ford Model 'T', Touring body by Ford. Each plate is accompanied by a full page of historical dialog. The book itself has some issues, the dust cover is intact but tatty. The book was not stored properly and there is mildew on the cover and inside the front and back and the binding is beginning to deteriorate. The color plates and narrative, however, are practically perfect and ready for framing. Perhaps a book restorer could upgrade this, but as it is it is perfectly usable. Shipping free in the USA, non-USA is $20.00. |
