Early Repouse Sterling
DEMITASSE SET BY J.E. Caldwell
Fantastic Early American Sterling
Silver Coffee Set

Enchanting and fanciful, this
three-piece Demitasse coffee set is in excellent condition with no
monograms, no damage or repairs. All pieces are marked "Sterling 47",
made by J.E. Caldwell of Philadelphia. Probably Circa 1889 or earlier.
Magnificent flower, foliage & scroll repouse covers all surfaces of
the fluted coffee pot, sugar bowl and creamer, with medallions
centered on each fluted panel. The coffee pot measures 9.25" tall and
6.25" handle to spout; the lid is hinged, the beautifully scalloped
edge fits over the opening inside & out and echoes the top edge
scalloping on the other pieces; black discs insulate the handle from
heat. The open-top sugar is 4" tall and 4" across, and would be
practical for any number of uses. The little creamer is 4.5" tall and
4.5" handle to spout – both the creamer and sugar bowl are gold-washed
inside. The repouse work is high quality; the set weighs. Coffee Pot
462 Grams which is14.85 ounces, Sugar bowl 193.5 Grams which is 6.22
ounces, Creamer 144.5 grams which is 4.63 ounces. This is such a
fantastic set you won’t see another one like this.
