This is an adorable 13 1/2" Steiff bear who would have had a blank button in ear. He retains his boot button eyes & original brown nose and mouth stitching and has 5 claws on all 4 paws. His mohair is a nice honey blonde shade and he has about 65% of it remaining.All 4 pads have been nicely replaced with the appropriate felt and his back growler has been either silenced or replaced long ago with another that is also now silent as evidenced by the old restitching to his back seam.There are 2 areas of injury to his left ankle. The first is on the inside and has been naively repaired some time ago and the second is a mere separation of the backing which is hidden by his mohair, but can easily be repaired with a few threads.Despite his flaws, he is a very sturdy old man for being over 100 years old! Feet are enormous measuring 3 1/4" long and arms are cupped at wrists like a hockey stick. He has a nice hump on his back and no foul odors.His profile is the more rounded cone nosed variety so coveted by collectors.He will come to you wearing his early red and white circa 1907 sweater that is in superb condition and a nice vibrant red. His antique leather top hat will be available in another auction.He is a loved and sweet bear with such charisma. Please view all photos and ask any questions that you may have.
