This rare and beautifully proportioned Malicorne teapot and creamer were created in the late 1800s or early 1900s, bearing the classic design so typical of the marque, with the standing petite Bretonne depicted on the teapot, and shown on the creamer seated. The balance of the pot and creamer are beautifully decorated in an accompanying floral motif, accented in a cobalt blue outline. Although these pieces are unsigned, the art work is probably attributable to Leroi DuBois. Both pieces are in remakable condition, especially considering their age, with only a very small restoration on the edge of the teapot lid, some almost invisible crazing, and the usual glaze skips that occur during the manufacturing process.
The teapot measures measures 7 inches (17.8 cms) in height to the top of the lid, and 7.5 inches (19 cms) from the handle to the end of the spout. The creamer is 2.75 inches (7 cms) high and 4.5 inches (11.4 cms) from the handle to the end of the spout. They will make a lovely addition to any setting or collection.
