Increasingly popular among collectors and serious baseball fans desiring vintage replicas of their favorites are postcards picturing greats, near-greats, journeymen and part-time players who appeared in the old Negro Leagues when Major League Baseball was a segregated game. This card is among the finest available at modest cost.
This card, issued in 1991, is not a reprint in the strict sense of the term. It is an original card issued many years after the Black Leagues closed up shop. The players, their uniforms and equipment, and even the partial views of stadia sometimes seen in the background provide the collector with the briefest glimpse of that time long ago.
Each card measures 3-1/2" by 5-1/2" in size, features a nice sepia photograph and provides basic information about the player, team or scene on its post card reverse. Serious collectors will want to add one or more of their favorites to their collections! Condition is a nice Near Mint to Mint.
Note: We sometimes display a generic reverse of our cards. This is for informational purposes only.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Our goal has always been to keep shipping costs low, but the new postal rates and changes in how the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has redefined what a letter is (by weight, size, thickness and rigidity), has substantially increased these costs.
We sandwich all our cards between cardboard when we mail them to ensure they arrive in the condition they leave us. Under the new USPS regulations, any size rigid envelope over 1/4" thick is now considered a package and is charged $1.13 for the first ounce! (Clearly this is much more than the 2 cents increase for regular first class letters of one ounce without protective stiffeners.)
It is our policy to ship any size order for the shipping charge of the single most expensive item's shipping charge. For example, if you buy 4 standard size cards ($1.50 shipping) and 4 postcards ($1.75 shipping), you pay $1.75 shipping in total for all 8 items.

- EXCELLENT PACKING: We ship your order well protected so it arrives in the condition you expect.
- INSURANCE IS RECOMMENDED: We cannot be responsible for any loss or damage by the USPS. We do pack your order well (cardboard, bubblewrap, double-box, etc. as appropriate) but as eBayers ourselves we purchase and recommend you purchase insurance at least on more valuable items.
* - An exception would be when items cannot be shipped together, as in the case of books (usually shipped media rate) and cards (normally sent 1st class and priority mail).
