Easton Press
The Journals of Lewis & Clark (2 Vols.)
You are bidding on a two-volume Easton Press collection which is EXTREMELY,EXTREMELY RARE entitled The Journals of Lewis & Clark, part of the now out-of-print Masterpieces of American Literature Series by this Norwalk, Connectiocut publisher of fine leather books. These handsome leather-bound books are Forrest Green and have all of the Easton Press trimmings .... leather binding (not cut up scraps that are merely glued together), silk moire end pages, silk sewn-in bookmark, archival paper, gold gilt page edges, and much more. Easton Press books are the top of the line and are built to last a lifetime. Vol. One is in very good condition, with no attached bookplate or other sign of previous ownership; the gilt is in very good plus condition with about 10 tiny knicks to the bottom gilt. Vol. Two is in fair condition because the rear silk moire end pages do have a 3-inch by 1-inch water stain, and the last 10 pages appear to have some waviness on the bottom only due to presumed exposure to moisture; there is no bookplate attached to volume two either. These two books would make a wonderful addition to your Easton press collection and only very rarely come up for aution. Thanks for looking and Good Luck! Due to the limited moisture damage to Vol. Two, I am starting the auction at a lower initial bid than customary for these two very rare books. If you have any questions, please feel free to email any questions. U.S. and Canada buyers only.
