Fix your listings — Increase your sales
Your eBay listing is your only opportunity to hook potential bidders. Bad grammar can ruin a listing: it sounds unprofessional and fosters distrust. You have a good product; why not make certain your listing is equally good?
You're an expert at what you do for a living, but you're probably not an expert grammarian. I, on the other hand, am a writer. It's my business to know correct English grammar, spelling, usage, and punctuation. Before you list, run the text past me and I'll make the necessary corrections for you—and watch your listings transform into sales*.
About This Rewriting Service
You, the winner of this auction, will receive rewriting, or proofreading, service for one eBay listing, according to the needs of the text (or your instructions). This is not an advertisement service, but a rewriting service to improve the grammar and writing style of one eBay listing, which you design and submit to me. You will receive, in less than 48 hours, a revised text (via email) which has correct grammar and consistent style. If you are not satisfied with the changes, I will happily provide a full refund (or, if you prefer, I can make additional changes to the text).
Corrections include (but are not limited to):
• Rearranging sentence structure (to improve style or sound, or to remove awkwardness or ambiguity)
• Correcting spelling errors
• Correcting homophones (they're/their/there, you're/your, it's/its)
• Adding correct punctuation (periods, commas, etc.)
• Removal of unnecessary repetitions
• Reducing double or triple negatives, if necessary for clarity
• Insertion of paragraph breaks, if necessary for clarity
• Compacting wordy phrases to a more powerful, concise form
I will—where possible—preserve the structure, wording, and style (e.g. formal/informal, humorous/serious) of your listing. I will not create new content, but rewrite or correct your content to eliminate errors and improve the power of your text.
This auction is for a service, not a product. You will receive your revised listing within 48 hours of submitting it to me. After receiving the revised text, you will have 7 days to communicate with me about any changes or misinterpretations I made, and I can re-edit until you're satisfied. If I can't edit the listing according to your satisfaction, then you will receive a full refund. Either party can decide when to call for a refund. So, try it out and see. There is no risk to you.
*While good grammar sells, I can't guarantee that correcting the grammar or style of your listing will increase your sales. There are many factors to making a sale, including buyer demand, the content, the listing's title, day of the week, and phase of the moon. It's your responsibility to make sure all these other bases are covered—I only take care of the grammar. I can correct your title or subtitle, if you wish, but keep in mind that I do not design titles or keywords; I can only make corrections of grammar, spelling, or style.
Submission
The draft of the listing text must be submitted to me via email (or by eBay message, or by pointing me to a current listing) within 7 days of payment. Use the email or address information provided by Paypal, and paste the text into the body of your email, or attach as an RTF or MS Word document. There is a limit of 2000 words, but keep in mind that this is simply a maximum. Your listing should be as short as possible: the longer the listing, the less people will read it and bid.
If you bid on this auction, you are agreeing that:
I (the seller) reserve the right to cancel this sale for any reason, and at any time, including after payment. If I cancel the sale, you (the buyer) will be refunded promptly and in full. Though I do not need to provide you a reason for doing so, I may cancel the sale if you appear to be creating a fraudulent listing or performing an activity which I cannot morally or legally support. If you are selling a legitimate item or service, it is unlikely that I will cancel the sale (though not impossible).
I think that about wraps it up. Thanks for reading, and contact me if you have any questions.
