EDWARDIAN: 1901 - 1914 Return to those vanished days a century ago, when adventurous jewelers were first using platinum in settings. Back in the Edwardian period, where elegance and sophistication reigned. A new style of jewelry was designed to go with the profussion of lace, silk, and feathers that the well-dressed lady's of that time wore. Diamonds were essential to Edwardian jewelry and the stones could be shown at their best advantage with new techniques of stone cutting and the use of platinum for settings. Never before nor since, has diamond jewelry been created to such a high standard. The period covered was 1901 to 1914, when the onset of WW1 disrupted everything. We can still enjoy the jewelry that remains with us today! This is a stunning example of Edwardian jewelry at its finest! This is set with a natural round brilliant cut diamond in the center. The diamond measures 7.8x7.8mm, and sits 1/4"high for an approx., 2.37ctw and weighs 4.9grs. It is accented with 3 - .03pt diamonds on each side for an approx., .18ctw. These diamonds are full of fire with a brilliance that is astounding. The center diamond is graded J-K color, and SI2 clarity. The accent diamonds are G to H color and VS1 clarity. You will see in the photos, the wonderful hand engraved detailing that accents the band. This continues all the way down to the shank, where there is a blank area for sizing if needed.
