Here is one of the true classics: The ElectroVoice EV 630 Omnidirectional Dynamic Microphone High Impedance, With On/Off Switch Complete with Cable and Connectors Perfect Vintage microphone for amplified harp harmonica. TOTALLY PLUG AND PLAY VINTAGE HARP MIC
This is one of the great mics of the 50s, and one of the earliest appearances of EV's patented AcoustAlloy Diaphragm. The 630 was made in a few different impedances, and has a 3-pin screw-on Amphenol connector with the notch in a slightly different position from that of the more usual 3-pin such as the Shure 55 series. That connector is extremely rare. This 630 is HIGH IMPEDANCE, HAS THE CABLE WITH THE CONNECTOR, AND TERMINATES WITH A 1/4" PLUG, TO GO RIGHT INTO YOUR AMP.
This is an extremely comfortable mic to hold, significantly smaller in diameter than a Shure bullet or a JT-30.
Let's be very clear: Cosmetically, this mic is beat to hell, as you can clearly see in the photos. It does work perfectly, though, and has an awesome vintage tone. The cable looks home made, but is very sturdy. This is a gigging mic, not a display piece. Works great, sounds great, looks like it has been through hell. Just having this cable, though, is very valuable by itself. I don't know how this mic got so beat up, or who made the cable. This is exactly the way it came to me.
