Here is a wonderful flowers in gold on black Royal Albert cup and saucer.  Footed cup with earshaped loop handle stands about 2" and is about 3-5/8" across on top.  Cup is ornately decorated inside.  Saucer is about 5-1/2" in diameter.  

Marked on both in red-brown are "ROYAL ALBERT [over crown] CROWN CHINA ENGLAND".  Handwritten on the cup, underneath, is a pattern number - looks like 4524.  No chips, cracks or crazing, in excellent condition. Similar marks appearing in the Harran's COLLECTIBLE CUPS & SAUCERS volumes date the manufacture to the 1930s.
