Item specifics
Material: Glass
Patented July 27th, 1886 (on base)  Emerald green, half gallon fruit canning jar.  Ground lip with Greek Key design around the shoulder & lower portion of the jar.  The closure is a glass insert and is Unmarked.  The closure is a Zinc screw band and is missing it's carrying bail.  You can see from one of the photo's that their is a small hole on each side of the Zinc screw lid where the carrying bail should be.  The Zinc lid also has an approx. 1 inch split up the side.  It stops just before the top of the lid, so it is still connected at the top.  You can see this in one of the photos as well.  The bottle has some nice bubbling.  I tried to get some photos to show the larger bubbles.  The jar has a CB on the bottom.  The bottom of the jar says PATENTED JULY 27 1886.  The portion that says JULY 27 1886 does not stand out as clearly as the portion that says the word PATENTED.  I tried to get as good a photo as I could of it.  This jar is very clean with no chips or cracks.  The Collector's Guide to Old Fruit Jars, Red Book 9 lists the cost of this half gallon jar in the Emerald green color between $400.00 to $500.00  Please e-mail me with any additional questions.
