Here is an extraordinarily beautiful midget art deco table radio. It was made by the Emerson Radio and Phonograph Company around 1940. The red marbleized catalin cabinet is in excellent condition, showing no cracks chips or noticeable damage. It measures 7" wide, 5 1/8" high and 3 3/4" deep. It appears to be complete inside, but the playing condition is unknown. I am afraid to plug it in. The tuning knob makes the needle move, but will not sweep the dial. The on-off switch will click and turn. I would say that the electronics should be gone over if you want to operate the unit. It is a stunning display piece as is. This unit would make a spectacular display piece or a crown jewel in any radio collection. Good luck and happy bidding. |
