This is a lavish English book from 1989 that features 30 original rug designs, with full instructions on how to make them and simple colour graphs to follow. They cover a wide range of both modern and traditional rug and carpet designs and all are simple to make. The basic techniques of latch hooking are covered at the beginning of the book, together with hints and tips on finishing, reading a chart and designing your own rug. Instructions are also given for working rugs in needlepoint using cross stitch or continental stitch. The rug designs are in the following sections:

• National Pride: rugs expressing the traditional designs of different nations, including Indian, Egyptian and Aztec patterns
• Outside In: designs based on themes from nature - flowers, fruit, leaves and birds
• Art School: designs loosely based on the works of famous artists
• Designs for Living: rugs featuring cartoon characters and other fun ideas
• On Form: rugs with shapes that make a statement
• Style Revival: carpets with Art Nouveau, Art Deco and 1950's designs

Packaging

All books and other items are sent in a bubble wrap lined padded bag both to overseas destinations and within Australia to ensure that they arrive at their new homes in excellent condition. If a book is a softcover, I also include a piece of stiffening cardboard so that the bag cannot be bent en route. All items of A4 size or smaller are sent in a plastic cover for extra protection.
