This is a beautifully designed and meticulously hand crafted George III sterling silver cream pitcher. From the rarely observed Lndno silversmith Thomas Streetin. Date marked 1791. Streetin apprenticed to the famed John Lambe in 1783. Heal records him from 1791 to near 1820. His son Henry apprenticued under him in 1816. His work is rarely encountered. This is the only example in our over thirty year collection. This fine George III cream jug in classic raised urn or helmet shape. A favorite form among Georgian period silver collectors. Gently inverted shoulder. Smooth finish. Bright cut engraved streaming leaf and floral oval medallion. Never monogrammed. Thick, well cast sweeping harp form handle, tapering to end. Supported atop banded circular base. Itself set atop thick squared pedestal.
This elegant George III sterling silver helmet form cream jug is 6 inches tall and 4 inches handle to spout. Thick heavy guage sterling construction weighs 4 1/4 ounces. Hallmarked as shown. In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina. Stands firm on table or tray. Few shallow pinhead bumps and fine lines, none at all can be felt and spot of tarnish here and there.
