Epergne Sea Shell Art Centerpiece Crested Ruffles BEACH

So many tiny shells ... it is just awesome ... the construction is unbeatable.

I wish I could name the shells, but that is beyond my knowledge. The way the different size shells are used and matched, is beyond belief. It has a form of tiny bamboo sticks that shells are tied to with what looks like clear fishing twine. Metal rings inside the neck form the round shape.

This came from a lady who was trying to raise money for the care of her elderly sister going into a Care Facility and she said her sister had made it.

If she did, she spent many, many hours on it. Maybe she worked for the company that made Shell Art. I could not find out where it was made.

It is about 19"/20" tall with three tiers of ruffles with two tiers being bowl-like.   Each ruffel is crested with tiny brown shells. The top one is open and you can see the unique construction in the neck. The bottom ruffled is about 16" across and lots of space for display items. So pretty as it is; it stands alone as a display; nothing more needed. The middle layer is about 10½" across and the top one is about 7½" across, measuring the flat part of the ruffle. This is bowl-shape and will hold displays. The neck measures 9" around. The bottom is 8" across. The ruffles are a little flexible, but the rest feels solid.

Condition: Vintage ... used ... but well cared for. It is clean. I do not see anything wrong with it. There is just a tiny bit flex where the neck meets the bottom layer and it may lean a little, but easy to straighten up.
