This is a nice individual of the Erg Chech meteorite. This meteorite fell in the country at Chergach, Erg Chech, District Timbouctou, North Mali in the fall of 2007. Classification is pending, but it is an obvious Impact Melt. The total known weight is about 100 kg, but few of the pieces show melt in them. The name of this meteorite could be Chergach or Erg Chech, but will most likely not be Mali another name this meteorite has been called. This is a 95% crusted individual that weighs 6.20 grams.
