Originally released in l997, the award-winning Esalen Massage Video is now available in DVD format. Viewers choose to watch the program in a choice of three languages: English, German or Spanish.

Offers the original, 75-minute full-length instructional massage program with 12 chapter stops, enabling viewers to quickly and easily go to or recap a favorite chapter. Two NEW shorter mini-programs are also included: a 20 minute Back & Shoulders program and a 10 minute Head, Neck & Face program.

This is the same instructional program that is used by over 50 massage schools. The up-close video footage features 19 members of the acclaimed Esalen Massage crew including both hands-on demonstrations of massage and bodywork techniques as well as audio intevies with recaps, reviews and personal explanations that shed light on what has made Esalen® certified massage known and respected as a unique modality worldwide.

About The Esalen Massage Staff & Video

The Esalen Massage Video DVD was filmed on location at the Esalen Institute. Esalen is located at the coastal center of the breathtakingly beautiful, rugged Big Sur region of California. Some indoor and several outdoor spots are shown with demonstrations on massage tables in the Huxley meeting room, at the cliff-side Hot Springs Bathhouse overlooking and forty feet above the Pacific Ocean on both the ground floor and the upper deck, on the cliff-edge swimming pool deck one hundred feet above the ocean surf, similarly on the nearby spacious luxuriant lawn, and within one of the lush gardens on this harmonious landscape rendering of the wild and the manicured. In this exquisite production, there are many spectacular scenes taken from a helicopter, as well as still pictures of Esalen's founders: Michael Murphy and Richard Price, and noted early Esalen presenters: Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Ida Rolf, Joseph Campbell, Sam Keen, Christine Stewart Price, and others; a fleeting view of the rustic redwood Lodge, views of the cascading Hot Springs Creek with redwood trees on its banks, a favorite charming meditation spot: the landing on the stairway from the Big House to the beach, and of other awe-inspiring spots on this magical property.

In this 85-minute production, nearly all thirty-six members of the Esalen Massage Crew appear, if not as givers, then as receivers, with some as both. Twenty-two, as givers, appear with first names on the screen, with ten as commentators supplementing the mellifluous, informative voice-over that guides the viewer through the total body massage. The world-famous classic Esalen massage moves are demonstrated in stepwise fashion with amazing grace and beauty. The idea of producing an instructional massage video at Esalen dates to at least February 1977, but not until May 1997 was such a product released. The viewer is completely captivated by the presentation in the same way as actually being at Esalen, for both are works of art. Are the DVD's brand new and in their original packaging?

Yes, every product we sell is brand new, and sent to you in the original packaging. We are an authorized retailer for all manufacturers that have their products listed in our eBay store. The packaging may include shrink wrapping, tape along the opening of a DVD case, or nothing at all. Please note that some manufacturers do not apply any extra packaging / protection to their products, particularly with regards to books. We take as much time as needed to make sure that the product you order is sent to you with the protection that is needed to minimize possible damage. If damage occurs, we will gladly issue a replacement if so desired.

Will the DVD’s work in other countries outside the US?

Yes, we are happy to do so, and the prices are built into the site. Please note that occasionally, we exprience unusual delays to certain countries that include Canada, The United Kingdom, Spain & Italy. While we will get your orders out as quickly as possible, please allow up to 5 working days longer than it usually takes to arrive from the United States.

We will combine and discount shipping for multiple items whenever and where ever possible. It is our goal to save you money.

How long does it take to ship this item? How long does it take for me to receive this item?

We work very hard to ship out all orders as quickly as possible, and ask that you allow 2-3 business days for this product to leave our warehouse after payment is received. Much of the time, your product will be on the truck for delivery within 1-2 business days. Depending on the delivery service used, this item takes between 2 and 5 business days to arrive, once dispatched - perhaps 1 or 2 days longer if you are in an extremely remote area of the United States or Canada. We use UPS, FedEx, and USPS for shipping, and can not be held responsible for delays on their part. We will, however, work feverishly to find out what the issue is should the product not arrive on time, or in a damaged state.

Can I return my videos?

You can return your items, for a merchandise / exchange credit, but only if they are unopened.  To return the items, you are responsible for shipping them back to us (please email us for an address). Once we receive your return, we will send you the replacement product, and authorize a credit or refund based on the difference. If, for some reason, your video arrives damaged, it will be replaced at no cost to you.

Do you have to be a student, massage therapist, esthetician or other medical practitioner to buy these videos?

No, you do not have to be a massage therapist to purchase them.  Please keep in mind, however, that these videos were designed specifically for people who have had professional training in massage therapy, and other forms of hands-on training in the healing arts, and assumes a knowledge of basic massage techniques, anatomy, and  medical contraindications. We have gotten feedback that these DVDs have been helpful for MDs, Osteopaths, Physical & Occupational Therapists, Chiropractors and more!

Do you offer bulk discounts or wholesale pricing?
