FURNITURE SHIPMENT

* We have little control in this area. We do not own any of the companies that ship. They control the cost and length of time. 

* The main factor delaying shipment and effecting the cost is the high price of fuel.  Due to the high cost of diesel, truckers are not coming to this small rural town unless they have a full load in and full load out. Likewise, Pride Packing needs  a full load when traveling 166 miles to the Greyhound terminal. We appreciate all buyers that fully understand this situation.

* There is a wait for all furniture items to ship.

* The wait ranges from 2 to 8 weeks.

* Email us for the next anticipated shipment date.

* When leaving your anonymous feedback please realize we actually have no control over the shipping time or shipping cost on our heavy solid wood furniture. Sellers with scores under 4.8 go to the bottom of the eBay search engine. This means we need perfect 5's all the time. In essence, we get scored on 2 categories we have little control over.

* Please do not bid if you are unhappy with the wait involved with all furniture purchases or the limited choices we have available here.

* To help defray your shipping cost, we or our consignors pay Pride Packing for all the labor, basic materials and diesel. The actual cost of shipment is more than double what you pay.

Most buyers are unaware of the labor and time involved in packing  furniture for safe arrival. Large furniture items like china hutches take 5 to 7 hours to prepare ($150.00 to $210.00 dollars in labor alone). The average packing time per Greyhound box is 2.5 hours, costing  $60.00 dollars for the labor. Banding strips are $10.00 dollars a box and included in your purchase. The used blankets are $5.00 dollars each and are included in your purchase.  Again, we either pay Pride Packing for these  materials or the consignor does. Pride Packing transports the boxes 166 miles to Greyhound. The truck only holds 4 boxes a time. The cost per box of transporting  the boxes from our remote rural area to civilization is $22.50 a box. We or the consignor pay that amount. The cheapest price billed out for one box would be $97.50 if only one blanket is used. This is the minimum amount for one box.  We do not charge the buyer for any of the above.  Furniture shipment is labor intensive and time consuming.

Furthermore, the workmanship of PRIDE PACKING is professional. We have purchased TELL CITY Chair Company furniture on eBay for our personal collection since 1998. We are aware our packer's workmanship far surpasses any packed furniture  we have received the past 10 years. Every time we were disappointed in the packaging, we added another packing no-no to the list. If you upgrade to the PROTECT IT foam wall option your furniture will be provided with the ultimate situation in which to travel across the United States.The cost of PROTECT IT for  single and double chairs is only 15 dollars. Larger items slightly more depending on the size. There are many positive comments in our feedback about Pride Packing!

***There are only three things we can control about furniture shipment.

1. The quality of the packing. Pride Packing provides top notch workmanship and old fashioned attention to detail. We send out packages like we wish ours would be prepared.

2. Free labor, free basic materials and paying Pride Packing's delivery fuel surcharge and the shipping companies fuel surcharge. There are two fuel surcharges per box.

3. Ongoing Communication. We email you when your item ships. If your item costs more than 300 dollars we also call you so you do not miss the 24 hour deadline to purchase insurance at u-pic.

When thinking about furniture shipment it is appropriate to compare what the United States Post Office charges. Let's assume you are lucky enough to get 1 pound crammed inside their flat rate Priority envelope. Thus, the cost to send 1 pound is $4.80. If you could place a 90 pound Ethan Allen Custom Room Plan unit into a thin cardboard envelope it would cost $452.00.  If the average weight of the Priority envelope is 8 ounces then the actual cost of the Ethan Allen CRP unit via USPS rates is $904.00 dollars. The Ethan Allen Custom Room Plan unit is currently being sent Greyhound for $115.00. It only takes seconds to fill the  Priority Mail envelope. It takes 2 & 1/2 hours of labor to prepare the CRP unit for Greyhound shipment. It is easy to transport the Priority Mail envelope. 2 men carry the CRP unit on our end. Compare the time and labor furniture shipment involves to what you pay all the time for unbreakable stuff in a thin Priority envelope! If you consider all the factors involved, pound for pound, the cost of shipping furniture is a bargain!

* You agree to pick up your furniture at the respective terminal.

* On motor freight shipment you may substitute a commercial business address with a loading dock for the motor freight terminal.

* You agree to pay for any additional motor freight services. Motor freight shipping amount are for pick up at the motor freight terminal or a commercial business address with a dock. You will be billed for additional services if you do not write out a check yourself when you request add ons. Additional services are not included in the quoted shipping amount. The minimum wage employees at the terminal will agree to doing additional work but they are not aware of the terms of this sale. Nothing beyond your pickup at the terminal is included. All accessorial charges are extremely costly.  We recently had a 85 year old consignor in the nursing home get billed for an additional $345.00 when a lady in Texas added several unauthorized accessorial charges by just asking an employee that was more than willing to make more money. We are shipping for 50 per cent less than actual cost. We (EARTHJUNK and our consignors) can not afford to absorb additional motor freight services not included in this auction. We want to be quite clear that you must pick up your furniture at the terminal or provide a commercial business address with a dock. No accessorial or additional services are included in the shipping amount. You must pay for any additional services you request. Residental delivery is an additional accessorial service and is not included in the terms of this auction. Most residental deliveries have at least 2 accessorial surcharges. Residental delivery is not included in this auction.

* Greyhound is the only shipping service we offer for items weighing between 30 to 99 pounds.

* We can substitute USPS for Greyhound for very small or light furniture items.

* We do not have UPS, DHL or Fed Ex available.

OTHER SHIPMENT OPTIONS

You are welcome to select any shipper of your choice and obtain additional quotes. There are many shipping companies online that will provide you with a quote. The shipper of your choice will have to both prepare/box completely the item(s) and pick up in Burwell, Nebraska 68823. Pride Packing does not prepare boxes for other companies.  When you are paying your own shipping company, they must email a receipt verifying shipping has been paid for. All furniture and shipping charges must be paid in full before leaving Nebraska. Pickup must be prescheduled.

CANADA BUYERS

* Motor freight shipment to Canada is available but is a different amount than the 48 states.

* Email your complete address for quote.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS

* Our furniture has been shipped as far away as Kuwait.

* You must contact an international crating and shipping service of your  choice.

* All necessary arrangements must be made by you. We are happy to receive your bid but are not able to quote or arrange shipping outside the Contintental USA.

* All International furniture bidders pay $10.00 for documentation of origin and other paperwork handling charge.

FURNITURE PICK UP

* We offer a generous 60 days of free storage for furniture pick-up.

* If you pick up your furniture you pay 6.5 per cent sales tax.

* If you are picking up your furniture immediately you need to bring cash.

* Prior to pick-up you need to schedule a pick up time so we can have your purchase easily accessible and be home. We are not always in town. We need at least 48 hours notice and prefer at least a week's notice.

* All sales are final.

* Please ask questions & request additional photos before bidding.

* Ownership of the item transfers to buyer with payment.

* All insurance proceeds go to you. We do not reimburse for damage caused in transit, replace the item or refund the purchase price. Insurance serves this purpose.  It is at your risk if you do not purchase insurance.
