Rare european antique golf club from first half of the twentieth century.
It comes from an early variation of golf game called 'chole' or 'jeu de crosse en plaine', which was played for over 500 years in northern France and Belgium through meadows.
Wooden shaft (ash) and hand forged iron putters. Size 40" approx.
It came with 3 hard wooden original painted egg shaped balls. height 1,8". Very strange!
Please have a look on typical form of the putter : one flat side for throwing ball in the distance and one 'peak' for going out ball from difficult area.
Surely an extraordinary antique sport collection set not to be missed! I was really lucky to still find such an old item in a small village of northern France.
