  Phyllostachys Nigra Black Bamboo plant is a "RARE" and beautiful bamboo with jet black culms and brilliant green leaves.  It is referred to  as the "Jewel of the Bamboos".  It forms a small, open grove and and makes a stunning accent in gardens.  At sprouting time the new culms are green, but later turn black.  Nigra Black bamboo has a maximum height of 30 ft. and a 2 inch diameter.  It makes an attractive container plant as well.  It is cold hardy to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.  It prefers full sun and is a Running bamboo. 

  This a "Mature" 5 gallon size plant (1-2 years old, Not a seedling) with well-developed roots.  Plants are approximately 6-10 ft. tall prior to shipping.  Plants may be trimmed at top to 3-4 ft. tall for shipping.  Plants are shipped by UPS Ground with the rootball and some soil wrapped in a wetpack.  Thanks for looking!!!
