Report itemFor auction is a terrific Kenwood KD-2070 turntable with an excellent Empire cartridge. This is a fully manual table, is quartz locked direct drive and plays 33s and 45s. It is in excellent original condition and plays perfectly. There is a built in strobe and the direct drive tracks rock solid at the correct speeds. The tonearm is a great one and all the bearings are nice and smooth. This table has large, vibration-resistant feet and a heavy duty chassis and platter. It is a quality table. The cartridge is an Empire OP-2, which sounds great. The stylus is used but is in very good condition. The original anti-skating weight, which is so often missing, is present on this one and functions perfectly Cosmetics are excellent. Everything is original. The dust cover is free of cracks or damage and has only a few light marks. It's very clear. The chassis is excellent with great paintwork and shiny plastic. The only flaw I found was the hold-down was broken off the tone arm rest. The rest functions perfectly, but it can't clip down the arm. I'll see if I have a suitable replacement for it before the auction ends. It comes with its original owner's manual, warranty card and plastic overhang guage for the cartridge. Shipping weight will be about 21 pounds and it will ship from my zip, 60091, by USPS, UPS or FedEx with tracking and insurance. I ship turntables frequently and know how to pack them. The platter, tonearm weight, anti-skating weight and headshell will be removed and packed carefully away. The tonearm will be secured to its rest so it won't bounce around. The original chassis locking screws will be in place. The lid will be wrapped and packed separately. Everything is double boxed and packed with plenty of peanuts and bubblewrap. I charge $8 for this. FedEx or UPS will charge double and and won't get it right. Local pickup is also fine and there is no charge. Payment is to be received before shipping. No personal checks or CODs. This items is sold as-is, but is guaranteed to arrive in the condition I have described it in. Audioregeneration sells audio pieces made mostly between 1945 and 1980. Unless I indicate otherwise, all these items are brought back to operating condition with only the replacement of dead components. I don't modify the circuits or upgrade to high grade components, because some buyers want them stock, and because I've found that for every 10 audio guys there are 12 opinions on what constitutes the best upgrade. Apart from turntables, all vintage electronics should be professionally evaluated and some old components will typically need to be replaced for safe operation and optimal sound.
