People who are really “in the know” about old Christmas stuff, Santas in particular, may have another name for this type, but from what I can gather it was used in a store window display in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

He’s in really GREAT condition and stands approximately 21” tall when he’s on his sparky, snowy-looking stand. (Masonite)

What a great beard!

The face appears to be very stiff paper mache, but I guess it could be something else. Whatever! The features are deep, crisp and very lifelike. There is, of course, the compulsory “twinkle” in his blue eyes.

The suit is velvet with the nicest, plushest feel you’ve ever seen. There are bells on his fuzzy shoes, and he stands up all by himself.

Here at 341, I have two "Prime Directives:"
First: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and everything starts at $9, sometimes even less. And, I never end auctions early or use BIN.
Second: I don't clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything. I push enough dust aside to note any flaws, but if I discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, I'll tell you about it.
So rest easy and have some fun. Why not place a little tiny bid right now so's you don't forget about it later.

When nobody is looking, you can squeeze his body. He feels spongy – kinda like a real fat man. (I should know.)

That’s what makes him stand. The spike goes up inside a metal sleeve in the bottom of his right foot. It’s like he stepped on a nail. (Sorry for planting THAT thought in your head.)

I can’t believe it’s less than two months ‘til Christmas again, but it is. JUST WAIT ‘til you see the antique Santa picture I’ll be listing next. It’s the best of the best – Best of Type, as I like to call it. It’s from 1900. Be sure to check my other auctions.

You’re going to be thrilled.

GOOD LUCK

Q: Is there a belt buckle somewhere? Thx
A: There is. It is about 1 1/2" square - chrome. It has slid a little around to his side. He's like me. He'd couldn't see it anyway. There's a mountain between our eyes and our belts. Thanks, Dennis
