Hi Jeannine, I bought the first genesis dvd and kit, but there just wasn't much information on it. When I saw this book on ebay, I could not believe it. I have been looking for so long for something with directions and pictures on how to do the layering and what it means to be translucent paint. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to everyone!!!!!!!!! It is wonderful and Jeannine does not leave anything out. I am so glad that I found this book and that is how I came to join this guild! The Excellence in Reborn Artistry™ Series
In 2002, I purchased a set of reborning instructions on eBay for $15. It was a 2-page bullet point sheet with NO pictures and very few basic details. But it did not discourage me from Learning the Art. Much of my experience has been through research and trials. And since I was somewhat crafty and a professional workshop leader & instructor, I set out to create a better set of instructions for the reborning public.
I often get questions like “Isn’t there a book that just provides me everything?” And the answer is no. There are so many options and painting mediums, as well as types of vinyl and silicone vinyl dolls, that there is not just one book that provides you all the information.
However, I did create The BEST OF SERIES, in which there is published in one large book, the best content of 8 of my reborning specialty books and 8 Soft Body dolls and doll kit patterns. It contains lifelike doll making instructions and techniques for Reborning Dolls and Doll Kits.

INTRODUCTION TO REBORN DOLLS
What is Reborning?
Simply stated, it is taking an existing play doll (unlimited number available) or collector doll (in a limited or extended series), and using some creative ability, figuratively speaking, you reborn the original doll into a lifelike looking preemie, infant or toddler.
Some call it Doll Makeovers, others call it Doll Enhancements, but if you apply enough artistic effort when reborning the doll, you can transform it into a ONE OF A KIND (OOAK) Heirloom Collectible.
Anyone can apply the techniques to do this art form. All it takes is the time and effort you can bring to create each and every realistic detail you desire to reborn into the doll.
In my books, you will have enough information to help you create these unique collectible dolls. I have featured the Dolls By Berenguer line of dolls in most of my books; and have featured the Secrist Dolls Kits in the LEARN TO PAINT series using Genesis Heat Set Paints.

She has helped many adults and children of all ages around the world become reborn doll adoptive parents and now has over 300 adoptions from her nursery She has hosted reborn birthday parties and has saved many a “poor boy” reborn within her reborn hospital.
Jeannine has been teaching workshops & providing instruction for various subjects for over 20 years. She has over 30 books, fact sheets, and pattern books published using various reborn techniques. Her instruction style has been noted as fun as well as informative, so have fun and enjoy the art. |
