Very rare and wonderful, 1937 Lionel Trains / Disney “Donald Duck Rail Car” Wind-up Toy in outstanding condition and with the original box!! This fantastic Toy Train Car measures approx. is 10.5" long and features composition figures of Donald and Pluto on opposite sides of Pluto’s Dog House. When the toy is wound up it runs of regular Lionel Train Tracks (we have the original eight sections of track) with Donald working the handle of the “hand car” type Toy. The Box measures 9” x 11 ½” x 3 ½” deep and features images of the toy on the top and on each of the side panels
This wonderful, Lionel #1107 animated railcar was produced in 1937. The design was one of several different Train Cars produced by Lionel in the 1930's using Disney characters. Lionel entered into a licensing agreement with Walt Disney in a marketing effort to produce a brightly colored animated toy that would bring more children into the toy train stores. The cars sold for just one dollar, but included with every handcar was a brochure describing the rest of the Lionel line. This sales promotion was an outstanding success had has been credited with bringing Lionel out of bankruptcy and into the black. This car is a unique example of this collaboration of Lionel and Disney.
This fantastic Donald Duck Rail Car toy is complete, in excellent working condition (including Donald's quacking voice) and all original. The toy comes with eight sections of track that forms a circle and the original Box (we do not have the original key but do have a key that winds up the toy). The Donald and Pluto figures are made of composition - their surfaces are exceptionally delicate and this toy is notorious for surface damage, flaking, fading and surface wear. The figures on the Toy offered here are in outstanding condition - the surfaces of the composition figures are bright, smooth and shiny - Donald has 2 small chips to the paint surface on the top of his bill and another small spot on his behind but otherwise the paint surfaces on the figures are “as new”. The metal parts of the toy are also in outstanding condition. There is a small spot of light yellow paint and a small brush line of white paint on the roof of Pluto’s Dog House but these appear to have been done when the Toy was painted at the factory.
The original Box is also excellent condition with no soiling or staining. All of the side panels are intact and all 4 corners are attached with the original metal staples. There is a small spot of damage on the lid which can be seen in the last scan below - it looks like something about the size of a pencil pushed through the box top there is no lost paper but there is a break in the panel (see the scans below). Other than this the Box is in simply outstanding, original condition!!
We are proud to offer this very rare Donald Duck Rail Car in outstanding condition with its original Box. It is offered here, as always, without reserve and with the confidence that it will attract the serious attention that it justly deserves. Good luck to all!!!

Important Notes about Shipping Charges and the eBay "Detailed Seller Rating" Star System:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee.
We have NEVER requested Feedback from our customers as we were taught that "fishing for compliments" was impolite but the new eBay Detailed Rating System has put us in a rather tight spot. Most buyers are unaware that eBay bases a monthly fee discount on a Seller's "Star" rating. A monthly average of "4.6 Stars" (in any one of the four "Star" categories) costs us approximately $400 in additional eBay Fees - that's $400 above what we would pay if we had a "4.8 Star" average in all 4 "Star" categories!! As a consequence we hope you do not find us rude to ask that if you are happy with our items, our service, and our packing & shipping please be sure to use the "Star" rating system and remember that a "5 Star" rating is the only way we can qualify for eBay's fee reduction program. ,
