NOTE: Gotta be honest, here. Under the Freedom of Information Act, you can also download these files yourself from the FBI Web site, but they amount to hundreds of megabytes. I have everything collected and organized here for you on one CD, saving you hours of download time for the many, many files included. I think you'll enjoy the work I put into compiling this collection. Your CD will contain the following FBI files: MAFIA AND MODERN MONSTERS Carlo Gambino 1,011 pages Carlo Gambino was investigated by the FBI for various criminal violations. In 1970, Gambino, said to be the "Boss of Bosses" was described as the most powerful racketeer in the country. Sam Giancana 186 pages 1960 report from the anti-racketeering investigation of Sam Giancana, Chicago organized crime boss. Vito Genovese 102 pages FBI records concerning Vito Genovese date from 1957 to 1969. The documents consist of various anti-racketeering investigations and an investigation regarding allegations of drug trafficking within the U.S. Penitentiary, Atlanta, Georgia, where he was incarcerated for federal narcotics violations. Genovese was referred to as a top mafia officer and had been arrested for homicide, assault, robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, narcotics, alcohol, gambling, and garment industry shakedowns.
The FBI conducted an anti-racketeering investigation of Carmine Galante from 1958 through 1979. The infamous gangster was well known for his connections with organized crime and had an extensive arrest record dating back to 1926 for assault, robbery, murder, grand larceny, alcohol tax violation, and narcotics.
Anthony Spilotro was well known for his involvement in organized crime in the 1970's and 1980's. In June, 1986, he and his brother Michael Spilotro were victims of a gangland-style slaying and were buried in an Indiana cornfield.
John Roselli, aka Filippo Sacco, was active in California and Las Vegas, handling affairs for the Chicago La Cosa Nostra family. Beginning in 1947, the FBI investigated Roselli for various anti-racketeering violations. In 1968, he was convicted for entering the United States illegally and was ordered deported by the Immigration and Naturalization Service; however, no country would receive him. In 1976, Roselli's decomposed body was found in a 55-gallon steel drum floating in Dumfounding Bay, Florida.
Miscellaneous material reporting that Sinatra socialized with organized crime figures, an allegation (disproved) that he bribed a doctor to obtain a 4-F Selective Service classification, and a record of an arrest in Hackensack, New Jersey for charges of "seduction and adultery". Mafia Monograph 284 pages The Mafia Monograph was written by the FBI in 1958 as a study of the origin, nature, and activities of the Mafia in its native Sicily and how it was transplanted to the United States. Abner "Longie" Zwillman 747 pages Information was compiled concerning Abner Zwillman, "established boss of New Jersey's underworld," beginning in 1935 and ending in 1959, when Zwillman committed suicide. Zwillman was one of six bosses of Murder, Incorporated. Theodore Robert Bundy 257 pages The FBI conducted fugitive investigations when Theodore Robert Bundy escaped from a Colorado courthouse in June, 1977, where he was on trial for murder. He was recaptured and again escaped in December, 1977, from the Garfield County Jail, Colorado. Bundy was wanted for questioning in as many as 36 similar rape-murders in Colorado, Oregon, Utah, Florida and Washington. He was placed on the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" list and was arrested under an alias in February, 1978, by local authorities in Florida for a stolen car violation. The FBI positively identified the subject to be Ted Bundy. In 1979, he was sentenced to death for the January, 1978, murders of two Florida State University sorority sisters and ultimately was executed. Albert DeSalvo aka The Boston Strangler 122 pages Albert DeSalvo, self-admitted serial killer also known as The Boston Strangler, was the subject of an FBI unlawful flight to avoid confinement investigation when he escaped from a Massachusetts state mental hospital on February 24, 1967. DeSalvo was being held at the hospital pending appeal of a life sentence for numerous rapes. Local authorities apprehended DeSalvo in Lynn, Massachusetts, the following day. John Wayne Gacy 17 pages John Wayne Gacy was arrested for murder in 1979. FBI documents reflect cooperation with local authorities and Gacy's identification record or "rap sheet."
