An *Important Note* for My Friends of the Needle....
What makes purchasing from April 1930's, Sewing - Artistic and Practical different? "A Stitch In Time Saves Nine"; that is what is different. My husband and I provide assurance that all machines, attachments, and accessories are rust-free, working properly and ready to use. Each one is serviced, oiled, tested, and sampled, if necessary, for reliability. (We regularly have defective attachments and parts that have to be discarded because a tiny part or piece inside has worn out.) In all appearances these vintage collectibles and sewing instruments can look perfect, but it is of most importance that you have one that works perfectly. You will have the immediate gratification of purchasing, receiving and using your new-to-you vintage sewing collectible. What’s more, there is always service above and beyond …. so as to give you one more stitch of satisfaction and peace of mind from purchasing at April 1930's and affiliates (e-mail me for recommendations). As the saying goes, “A Stitch in Time Saves Nine” - that little stitch-in-time has already been done for you at Sewing - Artistic and Practical of April 1930’s.

NEW Sewing Machine Feed Cover Plate & Screw fits Singer Featherweight 221 & 222K as well as most all other Singer Models (i.e. 15, 66, 99, 127, 128, 185, 192 Spartan, 201, 206, 301, 306, 319, 328, 401, 403, 404, 500, 503, etc...)
This feed cover plate can be used for the following attachments: Buttonholer, Swiss ZigZagger, Embroidery / Darning Attachment, or for any time you need to lower or compromise the feed dogs for specialty Stitchery.
Foot Attachment is not included, but is shown for reference only ~ it is, however, available in my other other listings!
Your attention is called to the background template of this listing, but more importantly what do you see about the background? Florals, greenery...
Well, it is a photographic reproduction of an actual piece of Art Needlework which was made entirely on a Singer Sewing Machine nearly 80 years ago. But, you ask, how were those flowers created?
With the right instruction, feed-dogs compromised and the appropriate embroidery / darning attachment, Machine Embroidery can range from the 'Practical' (darning) to the 'Artistic'... Just look at the beauty of it - can you see the detail?
You can start out simple - everything, as you know, takes practice. But, before you can start at all, you will certainly want this Feed Cover Plate.
Let's face it - the old Singer "Machine Specific" plates are getting more and more difficult to acquire without a 'collector' price-tag. Well, to fulfill your desire for Machine Embroidery as well as being cost-effective, this NEW Reproduction Feed Cover Plate works perfectly!!!
I made this sample in about 10 minutes counting the time it took to change the thread colors.
Embroidery Foot Attachment is not included, but is shown for your reference.

Red-Work, Blue-Work, Green-Work, or whatever-color-Work are going to have an entirely different meaning with the ability to do it on your machine. Or what about the old-fashioned Friendship quilts? Take your finished quilt squares to a bridal shower and have all in the wedding party sign them in pencil. Then follow their signature with your Embroidery Attachment - what a unique (cherished) gift that would be to present the bride. Or even as a baby gift, you could use a vintage iron on transfer with the oh-so-darling prints and patterns from yesteryear and embroider a Nursery-Rhyme Quilt. My mother has one (which I hope to inherit someday) and it is one of her most-treasured possessions.
This auction is for the NEW Feed Cover Plate and flush thumb screw only.

Dear Friends of the Needle,
....We are friends because we all know one thing in common, that is, the joy of the needle, that little one-eyed help-meet, that will act as a vent for all those artistic feelings that demand outlet and expression in the form of making and doing things.
What a big family we are, all wielders of the little sewing needle, the knitting needle, the crochet hook and the machine needle in its multiplicity of forms, from the very fine one that will sew the gossamer frock of the little girl’s fancy dress, to the heirloom quilt, to the sturdy member that sews our leather gloves and shoes. Truly, they are one-eyed helpmeets that have added to our comforts and helped us to make progress through this busy world.
But if the machine needles had not been harnessed to good reliable instruments, so that they could work in the quickest and neatest way, they could not have done so much good, and that is why we, as needle workers, are grateful to the age-old Sewing Machine Companies for giving us that vintage instrument and in turn, giving it a beautiful setting with which to work.
We also have to be thankful for the vintage service of instruction, so that even those with basic knowledge can be taught how to make the most of their machine and its wonderful attachments.
Now you have the privilege of purchasing vintage books and instruction on how to make, mend and design, with professional tips, all of which would cost a large sum if you took lessons in the ordinary way. Here you have the written word that remains, as well as illustrations and diagrams making every point clear. It is my privilege to impart some of that knowledge to you and it is a joy to know from your letters that it has helped women in some of the loneliest corners of the world. The word “Sewing” and all it conveys is beyond description in this limited space.
My special message to you is - be a Singer Sewer and your troubles are o'er. You can have pretty, smart frocks, dainty underwear and house-linen, and little Jack and Mary can be well and comfortably dressed without encroaching too much on the family exchequer.
If you want any information on machines or obtaining service for your machine, please write to me through my page and I will assist you.
In the meantime, I am going forth to continue the good work of gratifying more friends of the needle.
As Always - Your Stitchery Friend,
April

Some of my items are Vintage & Antique in nature, so please regard this when considering auction listings. Not everything will be perfect and may have some age related characteristics, etc...
