Hand Painted Black Satin Chessie Box
Limited Edition of 128 - for 2008

This Fenton Chessie Box #9180 was made for the PNWFA convention this year. Only 128 were produced. The sleeping kitten on the box is a symbol for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. The box is black glass with a satin finish. The box was hand painted with white dots on the blanket and the kitten has gold accents. The kitten's nose is painted pink. The box is 8" tall and 4.5" wide. There is a 3.5" round footed base. On the bottom of the box it is marked in white with PNWFA 2008 and hand painted by S. Stephens. It is also embossed with "Chessie by Fenton". In the center is the embossed Fenton logo inside an oval. This one was signed by Shelley Fenton at the PNWFA Convention. For more information about Fenton, look in our new book by Debbie & Randy Coe calledFenton Art Glass A Centennial of Glass Making 1907 to 2007" . The Chessie boxes are pictured on pages 95, 104, 124, 147, 162 and 170.
Both the top and bottom are in good condition with no staining, scratches, chips or cracks. This piece is new and still in the original box. A nice hard to find piece and would make a good addition to any Fenton, cat, Chessie box or railroad collection.
