TOP QUALITY ANTIQUE BIJAR FURNISHING CARPET, NW Persian, town of Bidjar, Circa: 1910, and in excellent investment quality condition. The exact size is: 8'-8" x 12'-0" (264 x 366 cm). Fine knotting structure, glossy wool quality, and clear natural dyes characterize this true Bijar carpet. The warps are cotton and the wefting is wool. This pile is high and the carpet comes in near perfect overall original condition with very minor lower pile areas. No knot collars or foundation showing. It still retains the original rows of sumak end finishes, now sewn back secure to prevent loss. This lovely weaving lies flat and straight on the floor and has a very heavy handle to it. It has recently been professionally cleaned to museum specific standards. The carpet is ready for immediate use as a decorative furnishing carpet. Absolutely NO worn areas, rips, holes, tears, odors, stains, moth damage, stiffness, dryness, color run, bleeding, tip fading, or transfer. A splendid weaving is all respects. If you have any questions at all about this fine antique Persian Bijar workshop carpet, only email Michael Phillips at: phillipsrugs@comcast.net, or feel free to call my studio phone number at: (303) 885-7599.
